If you had an opportunity to read my last blog post "Thriller Thursday: Brother Shoots Brother" you will remember that I shared a story about two brothers that weren't really "feeling the love" to say the least.
Today, I would like to take the opportunity to share a different type of story involving brothers. This story involves my maternal grandfather Alfred Joseph Royer and his younger brother David Joseph Royer. Unfortunately, I was never able to meet my grandfather, he died about 4 years before I was born.
I am very thankful to my family for sharing their stories about him with me. Written in his own words. This is one of the stories shared with me, by my great uncle David, and takes place in Dafter Township, Chippewa, Michigan. Alfred would have been about 18 years old and David 5 years old.
After hearing the stories about my grandfather Alfred, it is obvious that his younger brothers really looked up to him. I am glad that I have the opportunity to get to know him through their stories and I look forward to being able to share more of them with you.
