52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks: Writing prompts to breathe life back into my blog posts

It has been a long time since I have written a blog post. It has been over six months since I published my last post.

I've attempted to start a new post multiple times. I even have several draft posts that are somewhere between 10% and 60% complete. I just can't seem to hit that "Publish" button.

I think this is due to several things, but mostly I have been fighting my perfectionism and feeling like every post has to be written about some major discovery or brickwall breakthrough.

I figured it was time to give myself a small kick in the a** and refocus.

In order to kickstart my writing for the new year, I have decided to use the 52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks writing prompts provided by Amy Johnson Crow.

In her blog post on the topic, Amy Johnson Crow states:

The point is to get you to take that knowledge that you have and the discoveries that you've made and get them out of the filing cabinet/computer/pile of papers and do something with it

So, with that motivation, starting in January of 2021 I am going to fight my need for perfectionism, dig into my research and "do something with it"!

The theme for week one is "Beginnings"
